Tigers Club Project

the tigers
team

The Tigers Club staff team is committed, hard working, professional and mainly Ugandan. Tigers continues to place great emphasis on the empowering and equipping of a strong national staff team, which meets several times a year for staff training and development days.

A group of former street boys, who have been assisted by The Tigers Club, form the Junior Management Team that supports the staff and meets regularly with them to share their perspectives on the running of the project.

Drawing on the input from former street children:
The Junior Management Team

The Junior Management Team (JMT) consists of former street boys who have been successfully resettled through the S.T.A.R.T. Programme and who play a key role in planning, monitoring and evaluating all aspects of the Tigers Club Project's work. They prove that children can successfully break away from street life and maintain regular contact with the street children. Once every two months, the project team conducts workshops with the JMT members, where feedback is gathered on our approach and, sometimes, on individual cases, and plans for the future are made.

The JMT members are also involved in the day to day running of the project: some of them assist with night duties at the emergency refuge or with outreach through the medical programme; others help to cook or run educational activities. All of them are excited about their future and the opportunities that are now open to them --- some of the current JMT members are hoping to become social and health workers and educationalists themselves!
