Why run to the streets?
Description: An activity looking at the reasons that children in Uganda and the UK end up on the streets. Young people brainstorm good and bad reasons for being at home and on the street and then compare their lists with Tigers boys from the Learning Centre in Uganda. Reasons for Uganda and UK children are then compared.

Section 3: TIGERS CLUB
My Story
Description: An activity looking the lives of street children through a timeline tool used in counselling sessions with the boys. Activity 1 looks at real timelines drawn by two Tigers boys. Activity 2 involves children drawing their own timelines and comparing them to the timelines of Tigers boys. Activity 3 asks the children to complete the stories of the boys in activity 1 either through drama, art, hot-seating or extended writing.
Activity comes with a worksheet and timeline resources.

START Role Play/Case Studies
Description: This activity can either be done as a role-play or as a discussion in groups. It gives three stories of street children who have to present their case to a Tigers Club Project social worker who only has money to accept one of the boys onto the S.T.A.R.T. (Specially Targeted and Resourced Tigers) Programme this term. Young people have to decide which one should be selected.

Section 5: The Tigers Experience
The Tigers Experience
Description: An interactive activity that enables participants to experience life at the Tigers Clubhouse. 5 different sections: Education, Football, Medical Programme, Feeding Programme, Counselling which have information and questions about each section the project together with a challenge for the street children to complete. Challenges include showing coach Bogere your football skills, whilst wearing flip flops; Completing a health and hygiene lesson with Nurse Juliana and eating a Tigers meal! The aim of the simulation is for the young people to complete all of the activities at the clubhouse and by doing so, qualify for to become a START boy (Specially Targeted and Resourced Tiger).
The posters can be used as a source of research for pupils and a simplified version of the activity done without the Tigers Challenges
