Through the success of its work to date, as well as its close collaboration with other governmental and nongovernmental partners, the Tigers Club Project has become an increasingly well-known and recognised social work and development organisation over the years.
Tigers boys, staff and volunteers alike are now excited about winning the Africa Marci Award 2004 for Direct Care of Children. This is a prestigious award, administered by Viva Network through a competitive process of application and recommendation, and aims to recognise excellence in Christian work with children.
Project Director Andy Williams travelled to Nairobi, Kenya in May 2004 to attend the Hear the Cry Conference and receive the award on behalf of Tigers. The workshop provided a perfect forum for learning and sharing with other organisations from all across Africa, and valuable contacts were made and friendships built. The participants were even invited to join Andy in performing the Tigers Rap at the closing ceremony of the event!
