Thanks-giving for...
- The success of all the preparations to date and Gods protection and blessing over them; for the 26 people who have come forward to participate in this Challenge; for the Briefing Day and Training week-end, where people bonded with each other, trained together and got to know each other.
- The support and incredibly hard work of World Expeditions and Trailblazers/Saltmine Trust in making this event happen. It would not have been possible without them.
- The creativity, dedication and enthusiasm which the climbers have shown in preparing for the Challenge and raising funds for Tigers; the incredible love they have shown and their ability and willingness to serve.
- The work of the Tigers Club Project to date; the team of dedicated staff and volunteers worldwide; for every boy who comes to the project; and for the restoration and transformation which Tigers is making possible.
Prayer for...
- The last week in the run-up to Kili 2004; all the preparations the climbers have to make; for the health and safety of them; their families and friends; for excitement, rather than anxiety; and for Gods peace to be with them if they are feeling anxious or nervous. For Gods peace and love to be with all of those who are remaining at homethat they do not feel anxious or worried.
- The trip to and from Kilimanjaro: for a safe and enjoyable journey to the airport /flight; safety of all passengers and wisdom and kindness of all staff on the crew; for Gods protection over the climbers luggage and all the contents including important drugs, clothing and equipment; and for their continued safety, health and excitement
. as well as for rest and relaxation as possible. (May all those who are prone to snoring or fidgeting be sitting far away from our group!!! J)
- For the growth of strong and edifying relationships among all of those participating in the Challenge; for openness, mutual understanding, bonding and care and love to abound among everyone participating. For a spirit of honesty and friendship which will allow everyone to share their needs and concerns openly and honestly; and that Gods peace and encouragement will be with the climbers and leaders at all times.
- For wisdom and sensitivity of all those in charge of the Challenge, including the Western leader, the Saltmine leader, those leading worship and prayer, the doctor and the local porters. That God will maintain their strength and energy as they face the particular challenge of supporting themselves as well as others in such a meaningful way.
- For protection on the climb from ill health/ altitude sickness / injury/ lack of sleep/bad weather conditions/anxiety or stress; and for an abundance of fitness and energy especially on summit day. That every single person makes it to the Challenge and will be blessed and touched by the experience.
- For the relationships between the climbers and their porters/local people - that their contact with our group will be edifying for them, that they, too, will catch a glimpse of Gods glory and be touched in a meaningful way.
- For a truly spiritual experience for all those involved; that those who are not currently Christians will come to love the Lord through this, and that those who are Christians will experience abundant spiritual growth through climbing Kili;
- For an enjoyable hike; beautiful views and sights, a sense of joy, achievement, satisfaction and blessing at all times.
- For the Tigers Club Project in general: for continued success of the work and Gods blessings over it; for continued strengthening of staff and volunteers; for blessings over ever child; for the continued growth of the project at the Clubhouse and Tudabujja, and beyond, in Addis Ababa and other countries. For the appointment of a Uganda Project Director, Andy and Katina as they move into a new role within Tigers, and for the feasibility study in Addis Ababa.
Thank you so much for your prayers. We value your support so very much!
